IMAGING DONEGAL / N 56

Five leading Donegal photographers have been working in each of the County Council electoral areas over the last year;
Chris Primrose in Inishowen, Paul Rooney in Letterkenny, Simon Burch in Stranorlar, Declan Doherty in Glenties and Richard Wayman in the Donegal electoral area.

The project will culminate in what promises to be a stunning group exhibition at the Regional Cultural Centre in June / July, a joint publication and a series of five individual exhibitions in cultural venues in each area in September / October.  The project is organised by the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, in partnership with Donegal County Council Public Art Office and funded through Per Cent for Art.

Photographic Competition.
A county-wide digital photographic competition open to people of all ages is being held to coincide with Imaging Donegal. People are invited to submit one digital image taken in Donegal in 2010. The photographs submitted should aim to capture some of the local images and realities that reflect the wide spectrum that is Donegal.  All submitted images will be exhibited in the Regional Cultural Centre during the Imaging Donegal show from June 15th – July 31st.  One image from each electoral area will be selected by the five participating photographers and framed and exhibited as part of the Imaging Donegal exhibition in the main gallery. One overal winner will be printed as part of a portfolio publication that will accompany the exhibition.
